Wymondham honoured with award from Royal British Legion

THE WYMONDHAM branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL) were presented with a certificate from Norfolk RBL for services to the community at the County wide conference last Saturday (3 Feb).

Members from Wymondham including branch chair Ian Jacques, Ann Rogerson, David Neave and Fred Squires who attended the Conference which was held at County Hall. They were delighted to get the award in 'recognition and appreciation of their outstanding contribution to the Royal British Legion Norfolk.'

The award was presented by Lt General Jonathan Page to Wymondham Mayor Cllr Suzanne Nuri-Nixon who collected the award on behalf of the Wymondham branch and Town.

Cllr Nuri-Nixon said 'It was a lovely surprise to be asked to pick up the award on behalf of our local Royal British Legion and I commend the local branch members for all the hard work they do throughout the year for the RBL community and not just for the Remembrance period.'

Special thanks also to our Town Council staff member Gina Baker (pictured with the Mayor) who helped to organise the annual Remembrance Day parade through Wymondham in November.
